B. Core Requirements—Studio and/or Museum Studies (6 cr)


C. Elective Requirements—Art History (21 cr)


  • A minimum total of 21 credit hours selected with departmental advisement.

D. Cognate Requirements (0-15 cr)


  • Four semesters of a foreign language at the college level or its equivalent. If a student has Regent’s credit for four years of a modern foreign language in high school, additional language courses are not required.

Track III—Graphic Design Emphasis

FINE ART:

  • Six-twelve credit hours of Studio Art, Art History, or Museum Studies courses

Notes:


For students electing the Track II sequence, the department recommends that at least one course be taken in one of the following areas: music, theatre, literature or philosophy and a minimum of six hours in history. Art majors in this sequence are encouraged to spend a summer or a semester abroad.

Students who wish to earn a BA in Art must earn grades of C- or better in all courses credited to the major (core, elective, and cognate courses).
