HSC 345 - Drug Studies and Student Protection Issues for Educators and Counselors


3 Credits

Study in the individual, social, public policy and legal aspects of commonly abused psychoactive substances and their impact in society and educational settings. Study of student protection theories and the issues that affect the safety and health of communities and schools. Based on an examination of the issues through discussion and debate, students will create personal working models relating to drug abuse, school and community safety and the public policy that regulates these areas.
Prerequisite: upper division standing or permission of the instructor.
