HRM 463 - Compensation Management 3 Credits
The development and maintenance of internally equitable and externally competitive wage and salary programs is studied. Major emphasis is given to the role compensation plays in attracting, retaining, and motivating employees. Topics investigated include compensation as an exchange process, motivation theory, public policy and its effect on compensation, job analysis and evaluation, pay structure determination, performance evaluation, incentives and incentive plans, economic and noneconomic forms of compensation, special issues of managerial compensation, and problems of compensation control. Prerequisite: HRM 386 or instructor permission. When Offered: Fall
