HIS 389 - History of the Middle East

3 Credits

An examination of the development of Islam and history of the Islamic peoples from Muhammed to World War I, with emphasis on the nature of the region, is spread and its impact on institutions.
Prerequisite: 1.) advanced class standing and a previous course in the area; or a general level of competence indicated by three previous courses in the social sciences and/or humanities 2.) seminars and colloquia require the permission of the instructor.
