HIS 356 - Civil War and Reconstruction 3 Credits
An in-depth study of the factors that caused the American Civil
War, and the efforts to restore the Confederate States, with an
emphasis on the varying historical interpretations. Prerequisite: 1.) advanced class standing and a previous course in
the area; or a general level of competence indicated by three
previous courses in the social sciences and/or humanities 2.)
seminars and colloquia require the permission of the instructor. When Offered: Spring
