ART 364 - Medieval Art

3 Credits

A survey of Medieval art from the beginning of the ninth century to the end of the thirteenth century in Western Europe. Architecture, sculpture and painting are discussed within a social context. Influences from non-European cultures, i.e. Islamic art, are also considered.Note: Lectures are illustrated with slides. Discussion is encouraged.
Prerequisite: ART 250 or instructor permission.
