ART 352 - Nineteenth Century Art 3 Credits
This course introduces students to the major art movements
occurring in nineteenth century Europe and the United States. It
emphasizes the history of avant-garde movements in major artistic
centers, competing meanings of modernism, the institutions and
historical events that interacted with artistic formations, and the
critical approaches that shape the construction of the art
historical canon. Prerequisite: Art 250 and 251 or instructor permission. When Offered: Irregular
