Cosponsoring Departments: Philosophy and Psychology

The major in philosophy-psychology offers a special opportunity for students to pursue studies at the interface of these mutually relevant disciplines. The core of the program is a set of courses that are central to the natures of philosophy and psychology. After students take additional elective courses that permit the pursuit of specific interests, their course of study is capped by the Senior Seminar. The Senior Seminar, which is directed by both a philosopher and a psychologist, is an opportunity for insights in the area to be synthesized and articulated.

With this major, several possible careers arise: graduate work may be done in the area or students may pursue a career that is opened up by the study of philosophy or psychology separately.
