ANT 345 - Sociolinguistics This course explores the relationships between language and society. It examines the circumstances which lead to variations in linguistic behavior within societies and its social significance. Emphasis is given to the effects of gender, age, class, and ethnic differences on verbal and written forms of expression.
Prerequisite: Nine social and behavioral science hours including one of the following ANT 112 OR LIN 100 OR SOC 100 or instructor permission. Equivalent Course: LIN 345 When Offered: Fall Credit: 3
