The Strategic Communication program is in the Communication Studies, which is one of five departments in the School of Communication, Media and the Arts. Visit the program admissions page to apply.

Program Description

The Strategic Communication program is designed to produce advanced-level professional communicators who are able to craft and distribute ethical messages to achieve specific goals. The program provides recent college graduates and professionals with the opportunity to examine communication theory and research across several strategic environments, including integrated media, organizational life and technology and science. Strategic Communication students examine the complex ways in which messages and their features shape perceptions, interpretation, and subsequent actions. Thus, the curriculum heightens students’ awareness of their own and others’ communicative choices and enhances their communication competence and effectiveness in order to achieve desired strategic outcomes.
