HIS 345 - The Early Republic: US 1789-1848 This course covers one of the most complex periods in U.S. history, a time marked by democratic ferment, territorial expansion, increased national- ism and growing sectionalism. Through lectures, group discussions, various readings, papers and essay exams, students will learn about the people, ideas, institutions and events that shaped the new nation.
Prerequisite: Upper division standing or instructor permission. Offered: Not on a regular basis Credit: 3
