BRC 320 - Programs, Programming and Effects A survey of social effects of programming offered by broadcast stations, cable systems, direct broadcast satellites, and the Internet. Includes a consideration of programs and programming concepts, especially the broadcaster’s obligation to “entertain, inform, and educate”, the impact of changing regulation in the U.S. on programming, the impact of new communication technologies on program distribution, and the effects on the industry.
Prerequisite: BRC 319. Offered: Fall, Spring Credit: 3
