THT 471 - The Elizabethan Theatre

2009-2010 Catalog Year

An in-depth study of the history and development of the theatre of Marlowe, Shakespeare, and Jonson from the beginnings of theatre in Medieval England through the closing of the theatres in 1642. Special attention to the production of Shakespeare’s plays in the Globe, the Blackfriars, and at the Court.

PREREQ: Completion of all Basic Skills and Knowledge Foundation courses or instructor permission.
