Agriculture Education
This major is intended to accommodate students interested in teaching Agriculture. Students in this major must have Associate in Applied Science (AAS) or Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degrees in an appropriate agricultural subject, or a minimum of 30 credit hours of coursework completed in the following Agriculture areas: Agribusiness, Animal Science, Environmental Science, Food Products and Processing, Natural Resources, Plant Systems, and Power, Structural & Technical Systems.
Business & Marketing Education
This major is intended to accommodate students interested in teaching Business and Marketing. Underadvisement, 30 credit hours of coursework will be completed in the following Business and Marketing areas: Accounting, Marketing, Advertising, Computer Literacy, Macroeconomics and Microeconomics, Money and Finance, Banking, and Management.
Family and Consumer Science Education
This major is intended to accommodate students interested in teaching Family and Consumer Science. Under advisement, 30 credit hours of coursework will be completed in the following Family and Consumer Science areas: Human Service and Family Studies, Food and Nutrition, Textile and Design, and Consumer Skills, Resource Management and Career Studies.
Career and Technical Teacher Certification Majors- Grades 7-12
Agriculture Subjects
This major is intended to accommodate Agriculture Subject specialists with a minimum of four years of appropriate work experience and NYS certification where applicable, or transfer students with Associate in Applied Science (AAS) or Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degrees in appropriate Agriculture Subject specializations (Natural Resources and Ecology, Plant Science, Ag. Engineering and Mechanics, Ag. Production, Science, and Business, Animal Science), a minimum of two years of appropriate work experience, and NYS certification where applicable. Students in this major are eligible to take the Occupational Competency Exam (CTE 331 and CTE 332) to earn 30 credit hours.
Business & Marketing Subjects
This major is intended to accommodate Business and Marketing Subject specialists with a minimum of four years of appropriate work experience and NYS certification where applicable, or transfer students with Associate in Applied Science (AAS) or Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degrees in appropriate Business and Marketing Subject specializations (Business Management & Administration), a minimum of two years of appropriate work experience, and NYS certification where applicable. Students in this major are eligible to take the Occupational Competency Exam (CTE 331 and CTE 332) to earn 30 credit hours.
Family and Consumer Science Subjects
This major is intended to accommodate Family and Consumers Science Subject specialists with a minimum of four years of appropriate work experience and NYS certification where applicable, or transfer students with Associate in Applied Science (AAS) or Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degrees in appropriate Family and Consumer Science Subject specializations (Food and Nutrition, Early Childhood Development, Human Services and Family Studies) a minimum of two years of appropriate work experience, and NYS certification where applicable. Students in this major are eligible to take the Occupational Competency Exam (CTE 331 and CTE 332) to earn 30 credit hours.
Health Careers Education
This major is intended to accommodate heath career specialists with a minimum of four years of appropriate work experience and health certification where applicable, or transfer students with Associate in Applied Science (AAS) or Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degrees in appropriate health specializations (Dental Assisting, EMS, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technology, Nurses Assisting, Ophthalmic Dispensing, Pharmacy Assisting, Physical Therapy Aid, Practical Nursing, Sterile processing) , a minimum of two years of appropriate work experience, and health certification where applicable. Students in this major are eligible to take the Occupational Competency Exam (CTE 331 and CTE 332) to earn 30 credit hours.
Trade Education
This major is intended to accommodate trade specialists from industry with a minimum of four years of appropriate work experience and industry certification where applicable, or transfer students with Associate in Applied Science (AAS) or Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degrees in appropriate trade specializations (Architecture & Construction, Arts, A/V Technology, & Communications, Hospitality &; Tourism, Human Services, Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security, Manufacturing, Transportation, Distribution & Logistics), a minimum of two years of appropriate work experience, and industry certification where applicable. Students in this major are eligible to take the Occupational Competency Exam (CTE 331 and CTE 332) to earn 30 credit hours.
