Program Description
The graphic design and digital media program consists of courses in design, history, theory, and practice. The curriculum is structured into two tracks, offering students with an undergraduate degree in a related area of study the opportunity to develop a specialization, and offering students from outside of the discipline the opportunity for general study within design to complement an undergraduate degree.

Choose the Generalist or Specialist Emphasis:
Additional Program Requirements
- First Semester Review: At the conclusion of the first semester enrolled in the program, students will present their work to a panel of faculty. This review will be used to advise students.
- Public Display of Work: Students in the specialist track are required to display their work in a public exhibition during the final month of the student’s study or at a time agreeable to both the student, the student’s advisor, and the program coordinator. Students in the generalist track may choose to do a public presentation instead of an exhibition.
- Oral Defense: Students will participate in an oral defense of their public display of work. The student’s advisor will serve as Chair of the Oral Defense Committee. The Oral Defense Committee, selected by the student and advisor, will respond to the student’s defense of his or her work.
