Program Description
The chemistry graduate program is designed to allow students to pursue advanced training in chemistry – which focuses on a variety of career goals, both academic and professional, bolstered by individual mentoring and extensive research opportunities. Students will be able to tailor their education to meet their goals. Students can choose between a thesis track focusing on research designed for students who wish to gain more experience in research or a non-thesis track for students interested in taking more courses. Both tracks will help students to enter the workforce upon graduation or to apply to Ph.D. programs following their master’s degree. SUNY Oswego’s research intensive program using advanced facilities in the research labs makes students more marketable to industry, Ph.D. institutions, and professional/medical schools.
This program includes a professional track option designed to include business management electives selected from our award-winning MBA programs. Students will take courses such as operations management to prepare for the application of business principles to chemistry.
