Certificate of Specialized Study in Piano
The Music Department offers a Certificate of Specialized Study in Piano. A student wishing to meet the requirements for the Certificate must be a music major. The piano faculty and the Music Department shall review and approve the granting of the Certificate in each instance.
A minimum GPA of 3.0 in music courses, as well as a minimum grade of B in any of the applied courses is required.
Specific requirements (beyond those required in the major sequence) are:
- MUS 319 • Piano Literature
- • Piano Pedagogy
- Two semesters of accompanying
- Six semesters of any combination of the following:
- MUS 230, 231, 330, 331, 431, 531
- Observation of class piano
