Meteorology Honors Program
Students who meet the following requirements are encouraged to apply for the meteorology honors program through the program coordinator by the middle of their fourth semester. The last date to apply is October of the senior year.
- Satisfactory progress toward a BS in meteorology.
- A cumulative average of 3.2 in meteorology and in all courses credited toward graduation or demonstrate other evidence of outstanding ability to a committee of the entire meteorology faculty.
The candidate in the program has to achieve the following in order to complete the meteorology honors program:
- Complete the requirements for a BS in meteorology
- Maintain a 3.2 GPA through the next to last semester or show other evidence of outstanding ability to a committee of all of the meteorology faculty.
- Complete one of the following courses or their equivalents: –Differential Equations, –Numerical Methods
- Complete a primary research independent study project (MET 499) which includes a paper passed on by a committee of at least two meteorology professors and an oral presentation at an Earth Sciences Seminar.
