Degree Candidacy
It is the responsibility of the student to file for Degree Candidacy when 12 to 18 credit hours have been completed. Hours completed beyond 18 without candidacy are subject to forfeiture. Candidate must have a grade of B- or better in every Special Education course and an overall cumulative average of 3.0 or better to qualify for degree candidacy.
Student Teaching
Twenty-one credit hours of Special Education course work must be completed with a B- or better prior to student teaching. Candidates will receive one placement that is cooperatively supervised by a college supervisor and the cooperating teacher. Candidates earn either a Satisfactory or an Unsatisfactory grade. Candidates who earn a grade of Unsatisfactory in SPE 591 Student Teaching will not be permitted to repeat the course a second time.
