The SUNY Oswego Graduate Certificate in Nursing Home Administration offers the credit-bearing coursework which fulfills the New York State Department of Health education requirements for the Nursing Home Administrator Licensure Exam. This 15 credit graduate certificate focuses on issues related to geriatric care, personnel management, and legal, financial and operational considerations in the development and administration of long-term care facilities. Prerequisites may be required based on a review of the undergraduate transcript and work experience. To apply the credits to the MBA Health Services Administration degree, students must apply and be accepted into the MBA program.
Admission Requirements
The student must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. The student’s grade point average from any previously attended institution should be 2.6 or higher. The following materials can be submitted any time throughout the academic year. Admission to this program occurs on a rolling basis. Prospective applicants should submit to the Graduate Office:
- Academic record of completed undergraduate degree and any graduate coursework.
- Two letters of reference, at least one should be a professional reference.
- Student statement about goals, prior related experience, and future plans.
- Professional resume.
