Psychology Honors Program
The Department of Psychology awards Honors for students who complete outstanding scholarly work and maintain a high academic performance. Students interested in pursuing Honors, work with a faculty sponsor in developing a proposal. Students must have their proposals accepted by the end of their junior year.
Criteria for admission
- GPA 3.4 overall, 3.5 in Psychology
- Proposal submitted to the Honors and Student Research Committee
- Application and sponsorship by a faculty member in the department. This is reviewed by the committee along with the proposal.
- Completion of with a “B” or higher grade
Thesis and Coursework:
- Students must complete a minimum of six credit hours in
- Students must complete in the fall of their senior year
Completion of Project:
- A written thesis will be reviewed for approval by the Honors and Student Research Committee
- An oral presentatin of the thesis work must be given at a public venue.
