The School of Communication, Media and the Arts creates a distinct area of excellence for the campus as Oswego enters the 21st century. The school combines the strengths of programs in art, music and theater with the highly diverse department of communication studies. The school provides students with the opportunity to study both traditional, discrete programs in communication, media and the arts, as well as new interdisciplinary programs that develop organically out of the growing trends in media convergence, artistic performance and communication interconnections.
Programs in art, music and theatre are fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, the National Association of Schools of Music and the National Association of Schools of Theater. Currently, the School of Communication, Media and the Arts offers one graduate degree program: the Master of Arts in Teaching, Major in Art.
