ANT 342 - Archaeology of South America


This course serves as an overview of archaeological studies in South America. It covers groups from 15,000 years ago into the colonial period (AD 1532-1821) and explores how archaeological research is conducted. Discussions of archaeological research will emphasize distinct theoretical approaches, the use of various methods, and how archaeological studies and cultural heritage relate to present day communities. 

Prerequisite: ANT 111 or ANT 112; or instructor permission.
