CSS 340 - Writing the Short Film The Short Screenplay course is a writing-intensive course focused on the structure, format, and style of writing motion pictures in short form. Students will learn the techniques of working within the three-act structure, concentrating on writing visually, creating engaging characters, differentiating their characters with meaningful dialogue, and working on building a world and a tone that can function in cinematic expression. Students will also learn the meaning behind the script and its function to the production team by analyzing their scenes and how they could be represented in a film-production aesthetic.
