NAS 330 - Native Religion and Philosophy This class seeks to explore Native American religions and philosophies and their influences on ideology. We seek to understand how various Native American peoples perceive the natural world and their relationship and responsibilities to it, and the effects of these beliefs on their philosophies and religious practices. We conclude by discussing the social, political and economic concerns of contemporary Native American communities and the crisis points between Native American traditions and American culture.
Prerequisite: Minimum junior standing; or instructor permission. When Offered: Not on a regular basis Credit: 3
