PSY 454 - Self-Care for the Helping Professions


This depth-level seminar course in psychology will cover self-care and resiliency strategies for the helping professions.  Theoretical aspects of compassion fatigue, burnout, secondary trauma, and vicarious resilience will be covered, along with development of self-care plans.  This course is designed for students aiming to work in a helping profession.

Prerequisite: PSY 290 (minimum grade C-) and PSY 350 (minimum grade C-) or instructor permission.
