ART 358 - Native American Art and Culture


This course examines Native North American art from precontact to the present. The course considers a diverse range of art practices including architecture, painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, sculpture, textiles, mixed media installation, and performance.  Artwork will be examined in relation to the contexts (artistic, gendered, social, political and religious) surrounding their production and reception.

Prerequisite: Sophomore standing; or instructor permission.
