ART 389 - Art in the Ottoman Empire


This course explores the history that sparked the creation of art and architecture in the Ottoman Empire to gain insight into its social, economic, political, and religious dynamics. We also examine the circumstances that established a dynastic artistic style, which demonstrated the power and piety of its ruling families.

Prerequisite: ART 250 or ART 251 and sophomore standing; or permission of the instructor.
