JLM 498 - Journalism Internship


A program designed to give students on-the-job or field study experience with prestigious publishers or broadcast organizations or with other professional organizations in which students can develop the specific skills they will need to pursue careers in Journalism.

Note: The course is variable credit one to six per semester. It may be taken three times for a total of six credits. Students must be in the major or minor.
Prerequisite: Upper division standing and minimum 2.5 GPA. Acceptance of experience through EXCEL: Experiential Courses and Engaged Learning, an approved position description filled out by Site Supervisor and permission of the student’s major academic advisor and sponsoring faculty member. Clear learning objectives and academic assignments appropriate for the position and credits being earned.
