ECO 344 - International Trade The theory of international trade (comparative advantage and the gains from trade in the classical and neoclassical models; distributional consequences of trade); alternative explanations for trade (resource endowments, technological gaps, economies of scale, product differentiation, location); analysis of commercial policy (tariffs, quotas, and other forms of intervention); preferential trading arrangements (free trade areas, customs unions, economic unions).
