Art Major, Studio Art - 80 cr
Track I - Fine Arts (80 cr)
A. Foundation Requirements — 16 cr
B. Core Requirements - Fine Art - 22 cr
C. Core Requirements - Your Media Concentration - 12 cr
Media concentration must be declared before you have reached 30 credits in Art if you started as a freshman at Oswego. If you transferred with more than 30 hours in Art, you must declare before the end of your first semester at Oswego.
Select one four-course concentration from the following areas:
Interdisciplinary
Four courses under advisement. One course may be taken outside the department in areas such as Set or Costume Design, and Cinema and Screen Studies.
D. Core Requirements—Art History, Design History, Museum Studies, Contemporary Theory - 15 cr
E. Experiential Learning - 3 cr
Choose one of the following:
F. Elective Requirements — 12 cr
Choose any four courses with the course prefix of ART or ARH, not previously taken. Students with transfer credit who do not take ART 210 at Oswego must take ART 322 - Drawing for Transfer Students .
NOTE: Students must earn grades of C- or better in all courses credited to the major.
Track II - Illustration (80 cr)
A. Foundation Requirements - 19 cr
B. Core Requirements - Illustration - 34 cr
C. Core Requirements - Art History, Design History, Museum Studies, Contemporary Theory - 15 cr
D. Experiential Learning - 3 cr
Choose one of the following:
E. Elective Requirements - 9 cr
Select three courses with the prefix of ART or ARH, not previously taken.
Students must earn grades of C- or better in all courses credited to the major.
