Students in this major qualify for the Biology BA but must declare it as a second major.

  • Area Electives—At least two courses from Area 1 and at least one course from each Area 2 and 3 (12-16 cr)
  • Free Electives—Biology/Zoology under advisement (7-9 cr)

**A single BIO 492 course cannot be used to fill multiple requirements. A BIO 492 used for an area elective is in addition to the BIO 492 used as a core requirement. A BIO 492 that is used for one area elective cannot also be used for another area elective.

Candidates who seek to transfer within the college to a Biology major must meet with the advisement coordinator. Such a candidate must have completed CHE 111, MAT 120 or 210, and ENG 102, each with a C- or better, and have an overall Oswego GPA of 2. 5 or better.
