German Minor

German Minor (18-24 cr)

Successful completion of the minor requires a minimum GPA of 2.0. At least twelve credit hours of the minor must be taken at Oswego. Students with previous language preparation must substitute 300- or 400-level courses in German, under advisement, for lower level courses. Students without previous language preparation should note that GER 101 and 102 are prerequisites for the intermediate courses.

B. Elective Requirements (12 cr)

  • Select language, civilization, or literature courses at the 300- or 400 level in German.

C. Cognate Requirements (None)

Note: A grade of C- or better is required in the following modern language courses when applied to the minor: 101, 102, 201, 202, 301, 302, 350, and 351. This requirement would be waived in the event a student made the decision to minor after having received a grade below C- in one of the above courses, but also a C- or better in subsequent course(s).
