The program will welcome participants who work in the area of health care, as well as students who are interested in gaining competence in this academic area. Participants must have an earned Bachelor’s degree. Courses will be offered at Oswego’s main campus or in an on-line format so that the certificate can be completed within a three semester, one year time period. Participants completing the full certificate program will receive an annotation on their student transcripts. This is not a full degree program and does not lead to a certification.
The student must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. The student’s undergraduate grade point average should be a 3.0 or higher. The following evidence of scholarship and educational preparation in the health care services and/or the field of health communications can be submitted any time throughout the academic year, admission to the program is on a rolling basis. All credentials are reviewed in a holistic manner such that strength in one area might offset a weakness in another. This review will be completed prior to admission to coursework. All students will be advised by faculty from the Computer Science Department or the faculty of the Human Computer Interaction MA program.
