BA Psychology/MA Human-Computer Interaction Program

General Information

In order for students to earn a BA/MA in Psychology/Human-Computer Interaction students must complete 33 credit hours of graduate work with a minimum GPA of 3.0 at time of completion. Undergraduate requirements are essentially the same but more focused. Students will complete the 36 credit hours required for the BA in Psychology with the following changes: Cognate Requirements include CSC 212, CSC 241, and ISC 370 and Core Requirements require PSY 301 or 305 and PSY 401 or 405 (different topic at each level is required), and PSY 361. Elective requirements have been reduced by three. General Education Requirements are reduced by three credits with the Computer Literacy Requirement infused into the overall curriculum for the student.

Admission

Students will be admitted to the combined BA/MA Psychology/HCI program when they are initially admitted to the university.Admission to the program will be limited to students with a minimum high school average of 90% and a combined SAT minimum score of 1150.

There is a threshold check in the sixth semester. Students will continue in the BA/MA provided they have maintained 3.0 GPA, overall, C- or better in all undergraduate core courses, have completed all lower division undergraduate courses and a minimum of 93 credits by the end of the sixth semester. Students not meeting these requirements will be advised and transferred to the stand alone Psychology BA Program.
