The Electrical and Computer Engineering Program is designed to provide an innovative educational experience based on modern and sound teaching methods, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, and well-qualified faculty that will prepare students to enter the engineering workforce as highly skilled and qualified engineering professionals.

The opening of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Program coincides with the move of the sciences and engineering departments into the Shineman Science and Engineering complex in Fall 2013.
The curriculum is designed to offer a broad engineering education that provides all essential knowledge and skills needed for a successful engineering career in the global workforce of the 21st century. Particular areas of emphasis and interest include embedded systems and robotics, biomedical instrumentation, modern energy systems, and wireless systems.
As a new engineering program, Electrical and Computer Engineering Program will seek accreditation by ABET at its earliest opportunity.
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Program objectives are to prepare students for successful careers in engineering or related professional disciplines, the successful pursuit of graduate studies, and contributions to the betterment of society and the global community.
