THT 472 - The Theatre of Tragedy 2015-2016 Catalog Year
Tragedy examines moral and ethical issues, justice, suffering and retribution. The course explores the nature and function of dramatic theory as it relates to the tragic impulse in three critical epochs of Western Civilization. The classic texts central to the inquiry raise questions of personal identity, cultural allegiance, and the purpose of entertainment.
