MUS 523 - Women and Music

Catalog Year 2012-2013

A study of the contributions of women musicians and the issues they have faced in the past and are still facing. This will be discussed with regard to their many roles as composers, performers, conductors, educators, scholars, patrons, and amateur musicians in all types
of music (classical, folk, popular, jazz, and rock) through musical examples and literature.

PREREQ: Graduate standing.
