MUS 382 - Recording Technology I

2010-2011 Catalog Year

Introduction to the art of audio recording. Examination of signal flow for audio mixing consoles as applied to recording and sound reinforcement. Discussion of microphones and techniques of application, operation and use of signal processors and effects. Exploration of analog recorders. Extensive use of modern digital recording devices. Recording to a Digital Audio Workstation is a featured part of this course.

PREREQ: MUS 206 or instructor permission.
