MAT 573 - Number Theory Through Problems
Catalog Year 2009-2010
Principles and methods of number theory are developed in the
company of extensive problem sets. Emphasis on informal and formal
induction, problem solving, oral and written presentation of
solutions. Builds on Mat 504. Perfect numbers, Pythagorean triples,
the Sum-of-Four-Squares Theorem, plus selected topics.
PREREQ: Mat 504 and Mat 347 or equivalent.
