EDU 520 - Research Writing, Dissemination for Professional Development
Catalog Year 2009-2010
As the final of a series of inquiry based courses that values and
supports teachers as they make research and writing an integral
part of their reflective teaching practice, Edu 520 helps teacher
candidates continue with their research efforts. Candidates learn
how to present their research to professional audiences and gain
knowledge, information and the skill for sharing their research to
professional audiences and gain knowledge, information and the
skill for sharing their research at professional conferences, and
publish in academic journals. In addition, this course is a
culminating experience of the development of their professional
teaching portfolios, a process that spans the program yet follows
them beyond the limits of their course work as they continue to
reflect on their professional teacher identities.
PREREQ: Edu 504 and 508 or instructor permission.
