CPS 689 - Social/Emotional and Systems Interventions
Catalog Year 2009-2010
This class emphasizes the development of individual and systems
level interventions to enhance the social, behavioral, affective
and adaptive functioning of children and adolescents. Students will
develop and apply interventions with clients from diverse cultural
and ethnic back-grounds. Topics include both direct and indirect
interventions including prevention, home/school/community
collaboration, crisis intervention, conflict approaches, health
issues and assisting educators and families in teaching prosocial
behavior. Interventions discussed will be empirically supported and
models for outcomes based assessment will be presented.
