HIS 350 - Slavery In America to 1865

3 Credits

A historical analysis of the development of black communities from colonization to the end of Reconstruction. The major theme will be the mutual impact that blacks and whites have had upon each other.
Prerequisite: 1.) advanced class standing and a previous course in the area; or a general level of competence indicated by three previous courses in the social sciences and/or humanities 2.) seminars and colloquia require the permission of the instructor.
