HIS 328 - History of Women in Modern Europe 3 Credits
This course is an analysis of the condition of women in Europe from
pre-Industrial society to the present, concentrating on the
contributions they have made to social and economic history.
Students will be introduced to the importance of gender not only in
historical development, but also as a tool of analysis as they
confront social, economic, and political developments in European
history. Prerequisite: upper division standing. 1.) advanced class standing
and a previous course in the area; or a general level of competence
indicated by three previous courses in the social sciences and/or
humanities 2.) seminars and colloquia require the permission of the
