A Message from the Office of the President

Welcome to SUNY Oswego where student success is at the center of all we do!

At Oswego, transformational learning occurs in all modalities, across all disciplines, and through the intentional collaborations that exist between all members of the university community. Students benefit from the support and mentorship of a dedicated faculty and staff who are committed to our learner-centered environment. All members of the SUNY Oswego community are part of a learning environment that contributes to positive change in the world.

The academic and creative excellence of our faculty and staff make our university strong. You will have opportunities to engage in learning activities inside and outside the classroom that enrich your understanding and provide theoretical and applied learning experiences. These high impact practices will position you to thrive as you light the way for future generations.

SUNY Oswego has made significant personnel, programmatic, and facility investments to support the well-being of our students and to provide a network of care. Students are invited to join faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners in creating and maintaining a more equitable inclusive community where all members of SUNY Oswego feel welcomed and experience a true sense of belonging.

Members of our campus community are committed to seeking and nurturing mutually beneficial internal and external partnerships that underscore and elevate SUNY Oswego’s learner- centered approach and enable our students to make career lasting connections.

We are committed to stewarding financial and environmental sustainability. Our vibrant, sustainable institution is the byproduct of effectively managing, positioning and cultivating resources that fuel SUNY Oswego’s commitment to student success, academic and creative excellence, inclusive community, and mutually beneficial partnerships.

Our stewardship of vital financial resources and scholarships enable talented students to thrive at Oswego, and our cross-divisional and collaborative efforts geared toward student success are helping students persist, earn degrees, and achieve their post-graduation goals. We will continue to take action to protect and effectively manage our reserves, cultivate and obtain new development activities and partnerships, and invest in campus-based actions that reduce our carbon footprint and protect our environment.

We are proud to be Lakers, and we are happy you have chosen to be a part of our caring, forward-thinking community. We will support each other in our mission to live ethical and meaningful lives as we work together to build a better world for future generations.

Have a great semester!
